Privacy Policy
Austin RoofWorks is a directory and referral service. We are not a roofing contractor, we do not carry out repairs, and we do not employ crews. When you send us a request, we pass it to a roofing contractor who serves your ZIP code so that they can quote you.
This notice explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It was last updated on September 11, 2026.
What we collect
- What you type into the quote form: ZIP code, number of stories, the problem you describe, your name, phone number, email address, and optionally a preferred time to be reached. We ask for the email address because it is how we reply to you in writing — if you would rather not give one, message us on WhatsApp instead and we will work from that.
- Anything you send us on WhatsApp. The form itself does not accept file uploads. If you message us a photograph of your roof instead, we receive that image, whatever information is stored inside the file, and the phone number you sent it from. WhatsApp is operated by Meta and its own privacy terms apply to the message in transit.
- A record of your consent. When you tick the consent box we store the date and time, your IP address, your browser, the page you were on, and the exact wording you agreed to. We keep this so that both you and we can see later what was actually agreed.
- Ordinary server logs, which include your IP address and the pages requested.
We do not ask for and do not want your Social Security number, date of birth, financial account details, or any payment information. Nothing on this site should ever ask you for those. If a page appears to, it is not ours — close it and tell us.
Why we collect it
- To pass your request to a roofing contractor who can quote the work.
- To reply to you ourselves if we need to clarify something.
- To keep a record that you asked to be contacted, and by whom.
- To keep the site working and to see which pages people use.
How we will contact you, and how to stop it
When you tick the consent box you are agreeing that we and the contractor we refer you to may contact you about that request — by phone call, text message, WhatsApp or email, at the number and address you gave us, including by automated means. That is the whole scope of it. Ticking the box is not a condition of getting a quote elsewhere, and it does not sign you up to anything.
If you contact us on WhatsApp instead of using the form, there is no box to tick — so it is worth being plain about what happens. We receive the phone number you message from, your WhatsApp display name and profile picture if you have one, and whatever you send us, including photographs. We use it to get your roof quoted and nothing else. If you would rather we did not keep it, say so in the same chat and we will delete the thread.
You can stop it at any time. Reply STOP to a text message, tell whoever calls you that you want no further contact, or message us on WhatsApp and say so. We act on it straight away and we do not ask why. We do not send newsletters or marketing, so there is nothing else to unsubscribe from.
We do not sell or rent your phone number or email address, and we do not pass either to anyone except the contractor quoting your roof.
Who we share it with
We share your request with the roofing contractor we refer you to so they can contact you. That is the point of the form. We also use ordinary service providers — web hosting and messaging — who handle the data only to run the service for us.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not pass your details to lead brokers, insurers, or anyone who did not need it to quote your roof.
How long we keep it
Quote requests are kept for 24 months and then deleted, along with any photograph you sent us on WhatsApp. Consent records are kept for five years, because that is how long a dispute about consent could reasonably take to appear. Server logs are kept for 90 days.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no advertising cookies and runs no third-party tracking or analytics scripts. There is nothing here to opt out of, which is why you were not shown a cookie banner. Your browser may store ordinary technical data needed to display the page. If we ever add analytics, this section will change first and you will be given a choice.
We do load two web fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google to fetch them.
Your rights in Texas
Under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, if you are a Texas resident you can ask us to:
- Confirm whether we are processing your personal data, and let you see it.
- Correct anything we hold that is wrong.
- Delete what we hold about you.
- Give you a portable copy of the data you provided.
- Stop processing your data for targeted advertising, for sale, or for profiling. (We do none of these, but the right exists.)
To use any of these, message us on WhatsApp — the green button appears on every page of this site. Tell us what you want done and give us enough detail to find your request in our records: the ZIP code you entered and the phone number you gave us is usually enough. We will reply within 45 days. If the request is complicated we may take another 45 days, and we will tell you why before we do.
We may need to check that the request really comes from you before we act on it, particularly for deletion. That is not an obstacle we put in your way — it is what stops somebody else deleting or requesting your data.
If we turn your request down, you can appeal. Reply on the same WhatsApp thread saying you want to appeal, and we will review it and give you a written answer within 60 days. If we still say no, you can complain to the Texas Attorney General at texasattorneygeneral.gov.
If you live in California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut or another state with its own privacy law, write to us anyway — we handle every request the same way rather than checking where you live first.
Contractors listed on this site
The contractor names, addresses and trading dates on this site come from the Active Sales Tax Permit Holders file published by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. That is a public record. If you own one of these businesses and want your listing corrected or removed, write to us and we will do it — you do not need to give a reason.
Security and children
The site is served over HTTPS and requests are stored on access-controlled systems. No system is perfect, and we will tell you promptly if something goes wrong with data you gave us.
This site is meant for adults arranging work on property. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
Changes, and how to reach us
If this notice changes in a way that matters, we will change the date at the top and, where the change is significant, say so on the home page.
Questions, corrections, deletions and appeals all go the same way: message us on WhatsApp. The button is on every page, top right and bottom right, and it reaches a person rather than an inbox nobody reads.
